Fox Marble Layout and Sample Terms and Conditions

Slab cutting layout is an additional service provided by Fox Marble & Granite to better serve our clients.

Samples (small portions of slabs) are given to clients when deciding on which material to use. It is important to note that a sample only represents a small portion of a slab and some materials are not uniform in color throughout.

It is important that all parties be aware that it is normal for natural stones to have variations in vein, color, finish and surface conditions. Although we will try to point our visible anomalies in the slabs at the time of layout, it is the responsibility of Buyer to call to our attention anything about the slabs that they may consider to be a defect.

Granites commonly have small pits in the surface, almost pin sized. Every stone is different in this respect, and the Buyer should visually inspect the material prior to fabrication. Small fissures are also common, and usually pose no structural problem. Structural cracks are not common in granite. We always try to avoid cracks by cutting around them. If this is not possible, it is either necessary to reinforce the stone with metal rods, or select another slab.

Marbles commonly have pits, cavities, fissures and cracks that require resin filler and refinishing work. If these conditions are not acceptable to the Buyer, the only option is to offer another stone.

Cutting layouts are a guide for our fabricators. There are times, however, that anomalies become apparent during the cutting process. In these situations, Fox Marble & Granite reserves the right to adjust the cutting layout.
